No photos taken for this day
... er yet!
I recently got a mobile with a camera and I thought it would be cool to email my site and have it upload stuff automatically.
This page is really the test area for that idea. I've had some problems and some successes, but the page is coming on quite well I think!
What it does:
- Receives email
- Saves and resizes incoming images
- Deletes the emails
- Reflects the file system in the page
- Filenames: sender_datetime_msgnum_partnum.jpg
Key thing I don't have at the moment is the PUSH, what I mean is that my ideal world would have this page reflecting the photos the instant it receives them - proper hard!
At the moment the user [you!] has to click on the check for updates button. What I can do is look in the mailbox everytime someone visits the page and advise the user if there are any, but when the mailbox gets even just a few emails it grinds to a halt. proper no good!
A big W00T to everyone who's sent pictures! I love you all! (can't
show the rude ones though
)
1. Save incoming stuff to folder called date("Ymd") and then use this calendar function to let people browse through the months and look in the daily photo folders.
2. User organisation? Already pulling out the from address ... I just know it's going to end up calling a freaking database!
